Archival Mat Workshop Weekend

20–21 February 2027 | Lübeck & Online

Discover the Origins of Contrology

Join us for an inspiring weekend dedicated to the original Pilates Matwork and the fascinating history behind Joseph Hubertus Pilates’ method.

Throughout this two-day workshop, we will explore all 34 original Mat exercises from Joseph Pilates’ renowned book Return to Life Through Contrology.

Each exercise will be studied in detail, giving you a deeper understanding of its purpose, execution and place within the original method. The weekend also includes two Masterclasses, offering the opportunity to experience the complete work in practice.

We will also take a journey into Pilates history with “His Inspiration”, exploring the people, ideas and influences that helped shape Joseph Pilates’ unique approach to movement and wellbeing.

Whether you are a Pilates teacher looking to deepen your knowledge or a dedicated practitioner with a passion for the classical method, this weekend offers a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with the roots of Contrology.
