The most complete and structured Pilates education program available today.
Program Overview
The Comprehensive Studio Apparatus Program is designed to give you in-depth knowledge of the entire classical Pilates system. Over the course of 9–18 months, or in a 12-day intensive format, you will train in:
- Mat
- Reformer
- Cadillac
- Chairs
- Barrels
- Ped-o-Pull
- Magic Circle
This program includes all levels of the Method – from First Timer to Challenge – and prepares you to teach clients of any age and fitness level.
Program Structure

6 Intensive Weekends, covering:
- First Timer Level
- Intro Level
- Ideal Level
- Ideal Level
- Ideal Level + Anatomy & Orthopedic Foundation
- Challenge Level

24 hours of mandatory student meetings

450–600 apprentice hours, including:
– Observation
– Assisting
– Practicing
– Teaching
(Hours begin after Weekend 1) -
Minimum 1 group class per week (class fees not included)

Beginner lesson taught in an approved studio
Course duration: 9 to 18 months
If extended beyond 18 months, tuition may increase by €150/month.
Note: Apprentice hour requirements may vary depending on individual progress. Focus on your journey—do not compare yourself to others.
Education Goals
By the end of the program, you will be able to:
✔ Teach Pilates to clients of all ages and abilities
✔ Structure sessions using all apparatus
✔ Apply Pilates principles across INTRO, IDEAL, and CHALLENGE levels
✔ Understand teaching methodology and didactics
✔ Incorporate THE PILATES STANDARD philosophy and teaching tools
✔ Offer modifications and variations for special populations
✔ Teach post-rehabilitative clients safely and effectively
✔ Apply relevant anatomy knowledge in practice
Prerequisites
Before enrolling, you must have completed:
• THE PILATES STANDARD Intro Matwork training, or minimum 10 Matwork sessions
• Minimum 10 apparatus-based sessions at an approved or affiliate studio
An additional fee for your own training can occur. Pricing may vary between studios.
Apprentice Hour Components (450–600 hours)
Your apprentice hours include:
• Observing lessons in an approved studio
• Assisting certified teachers
• Independent practice
• Weekly group class attendance
• Weekly apprentice meetings
• Apparatus maintenance and setup
• Teaching Mat classes (Intro – Challenge)
• After 300 hours: begin teaching studio clients
All apprentice hours must be logged and submitted to the studio where they are completed.
Exam & Certification
Once you’ve completed all coursework and apprentice hours, you’ll take the final exam.
Upon passing, you’ll receive:
THE PILATES STANDARD Comprehensive Certificate of Completion
If a retest is needed:
• 1st retest: Free within 3 months
• 2nd retest: $100 within 2 months
• 3rd retest: $100 within 3 months
